How to read today’s deals
The board above shows, for each model we watch, two things: its state (in stock, low stock, sold out or unconfirmed) and the lowest price we have observed across monitored shops. With that in hand:
- A real deal is normal price + available. If a model shows in stock within its usual price band, that is the good news you are after.
- A price below normal may be a legitimate discount or a red flag (display unit, import without Spanish warranty, or an error). Check the listing before you leap.
- A price well above the usual band is not a deal even if it says "available": it is usually a marketplace markup exploiting the shortage.
The states come from delayed public data and are indicative: confirm them at the shop before travelling or paying. We never mark "sold out" from a read failure; a doubtful reading shows as "unconfirmed", not red.
Which models we track (and why)
We do not watch entire catalogues: we follow a handful of specific portables — the most searched-for and their reasonable alternatives — and publish their real state on each availability page.

Real deal or bait: how not to fall for it
In the thick of a heatwave, scarcity brings out the worst in some sellers. The most common traps:
- Scarcity markup: third parties listing a sold-out model well above its normal price. "Available" does not make it a deal.
- Refurbished dressed as new: check it is a new unit with a warranty, not a return without cover sold at the price of new.
- Evaporative dressed as air conditioning: water "coolers" are much cheaper because they are not air conditioning; in humid heat they barely help.
